Every time she steps on a stage, Nigerian singer-songwriter Nneka puts her heart and soul into social issues like the quest for justice and the complex situation in the Niger Delta, her homeland. Inspired by the careers and sounds of artists such as Fela Kuti, Bob Marley or Lauryn Hill, Nneka has crafted a unique voice and explosive lyrics with a social message through which she wants to transform social reality. As she herself states: “If you approach me with hatred, I will approach you with love.”

With three albums to this date, the singer-songwriter won the MOBO award for Best African Act in 2009 in the UK. At The Rope Foundation, Nneka helps young men and women to express themselves through art. She also serves as the Arts Ambassador for the African Women Development Fund (AWDF).
